Travel Hacks
SEASON 1, EPISODE 9
Here’s a few travel hacks that could help make your trip a little easier.
HACK #1: Use straws to pack travel-sized proportions
(straws, scissors, pliers, lighter, travel-sized containers)
Cut the straw into 3 sections
Use pliers to press the bottom of the straw together and heat to seal
Fill with desired products
Seal open-end and label
HACK#2: Use straws to keep necklaces untangled
(straws, jewelry)
If you’re packing chain necklaces, use a straw to prevent tangling.
HACK#3: Use cling film to pack jewelry
(cling film, jewelry)
If you’re packing a bunch of necklaces and bracelets, use cling film to prevent tangling.
Pull off a length of plastic wrap and arrange jewelry on top
Pull off a second piece and lay it on top your jewelry
Press the plastic together around jewelry
Roll up the plastic wrap or just slip it into a suitcase pocket
HACK#4: Store your hot tools in an oven mitt
(oven mitt, curling iron)
Oven mitts are made to withstand heat. If you’re in a rush and don’t have time to cool down your curling iron, just place it in the oven mitt and you’re out the door.
HACK#5: Fold a shirt in under 2 seconds
(t-shirts, demo)
Make an imaginary line down the edge of the collar
Make a 2nd imaginary line across the middle of the shirt
The cross point of line 1 and 2 becomes point A
The top of line 2 becomes point B
The bottom of line 2 becomes point C
Grab point A with the left hand
Grab point B with the right hand
Then take right B point and grab point C
Flip over and tada!
It may take some practice, but once you’ve mastered it, it’ll make folding your laundry much more fun and quick.
HACK#6: Roll clothes to pack more
(carry on, clothes)
Rolling your clothes will not only save space, but it will cause less wrinkles in your clothing.
HACK #7: Add dryer sheets to your carry on
(dryer sheets)
Adding a few dryer sheets will keep your clothes smelling fresh.
